It provides a picture of our nation that helps determine where to build new schools, hospitals, and businesses; how federal funding is distributed; and how congressional seats are apportioned. It also helps us see how our community has changed over time.That’s why an accurate count is so important.

The census is conducted every ten years
Census is mandated by the constitution
•2020 marks the first year the Census Bureau will accept answers online, via mail, or by phone.
• The census is confidential and secure.
• The Census Bureau will never ask you for your social security number, banking information, or political party affiliation.
•The census consists of 8 questions-
• There are job opportunities with the census. Over 1200 people will be trained and hired in Peoria County alone.
•Municipalities/counties will not have the ability to challenge, so an accurate count is very important!
