DUNLAP A GOOD PLACE TO LIVE: A national real estate survey listed Dunlap as a very good place to buy a home in 2018. For more information about the survey, click here. Dunlap High School is among the top in the nation. DHS is ranked best in the state and the nation in a new, comprehensive ranking of most American high schools, as conducted by U.S. News & World Report. See article in Peoria Journal Star on May 1, 2019. The Village of Dunlap is also the lowest taxing body in Tri-County area.
SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOLS-The Village of Dunlap was named as recipient of the Safe Routes To School Grant by Governor Pritzker in April. The project scheduled start construction in June 2020. The improvements will include lighting, sidewalks, signage, median, refuge islands and a decrease in speed limit for the school crosswalk on Route 91 at Dunlap Valley Middle School.
